For Joomla-SMF Forum, please refer to this new article.

Here is a quick how-to for installing Mambo-SMF:

1. Download SMF from simplemachines.org.
2. Install SMF forum on the same database as Mambo. Use a different prefix such as "smf_".
3. Download Mambo-SMF Forum component
4. Install using SMF Package Manager.
5. Install component from Mambo admin.
6. If you use the optional login module, publish it from Mambo admin. Then unpublish the default Mambo Login module.

NOTE: Configuration of the component is easy. Just follow the installation checklist on the admin page.

Site blank... : waarsenburg
Ah well, if it is so easy, why do I have a blank site after following all the instructions? I upgraded Mambo 4.6.1 to Joomla 1.0.11, but implementing SMF just does not work. Any ideas?

Check that your forum path is correctly set in Components -> Joomla-SMF > Installation. That's what was wrong with mine... Simplest of things sometimes. images/smiley.gif
