This is a problem for some website that uses a dark background. It's because, TinyMCE uses the default theme templates CSS by default. If you are editing on the admin side, just turn off CSS for the TinyMCE and use a different CSS.

Solution:
Go to the parameters of TinyMCE mambot and set Template CSS classes to no.
Specify at Custom CSS Classes another css file, where you respecify classes for the editor.

Joomla help is not very helpful : Guest
In what manner do you need to specify the location of the css file? Just the file name and this file needs to reside in a particular directory? Do you specify the path to the file? Do you need to specify the URL to the file?

Too much is assumed in this 'help'.

Set the editor theme at the top of the TinyMCE Mambot editor window labeled Functionality. You will be able to select Advanced or Simple.

The path to where tinymce will look for .css files is /mambots/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/themes/simple/css if you're using the simple theme or /mambots/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/css if you're using the advanced theme.

To change the CSS file select no under Template CSS classes then enter the name of the CSS file that you want to use in the directory listed above for your theme.

Example:

For advanced theme in /mambots/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/css there are three CSS files labeled

editor_content.css
editor_popup.css
editor_ui.css

If you want to use the editor_content.css file just enter that name in the TinyMCE mambot screen after Custom CSS Classes

Custom CSS Classes editor_content.css

Home that helps.
