Mambo - Joomla Trend
At least, this is what the Google Trend history shows. The line is going down for Mambo and Joomla, on its way up, crossed the line during the first quarter of 2006. This is just one way of of witnessing some kind of disaster. Just like a CEO looking at his company's stock plunging down. Not to mention that "mambo" is not just for mambo CMS. A good portion of it is meant for the actual dance.

And while looking at this trend, I just learned from a linked news that Martin Brampton also quit the job after few months of taking over the the Mambo project. If you guys don't know him, he's the developer of Remository.

Searching the Mambo website, I did see new names on the team:

Board of Regents

  • Peter Lamont, Chairman

  • Jim Begley, Secretary

  • Justina Phoon, Public Officer & Treasurer

  • Ric Shreves

  • Alain Schmalz

The following committees and teams serve under the Board:

  • Core Development Team - Chad Auld (aka Cauld), Team Leader

  • Translation Team - Carlos Souza (aka Csouza), Team Leader

  • Third-Party Development Team - Alain Schmalz (aka Mamboswiss), Team Leader

  • PR, Advocacy & Membership Team - Ric Shreves (aka ricoflan), Team Leader

  • Documentation Team - Richard Ong (aka Arpee), Team Leader

  • QA/ Release Team - JudeSoul (James Puro), Team Leader

All I can say is, goodluck to the Mambo team. With that trend, they're just going to have a hard time developing since Joomla is now more popular.

How can that be? : johnny
Maybe because the majority sees that the developers are the key, specially that it's known that they are continuing development under a new name (Joomla). So for most people it's common sense to go Joomla...
