ImageJoomla! third party developer, Azrul is proud to present to the Joomla community an AJAX based comment system named Jom Comment. Frustrated with the lack of development with the old AKO comment system, Azrul feels that the Joomla community deserves a better and new comment bot taking advantage of the latest thinking in web development. One of the cool things about using AJAX in Jom Comment let’s you add comment on the fly without reloading the whole page. What you get is a smooth looking comment bot at your website.

Joomla! third party developer, Azrul is proud to present to the Joomla community an AJAX based comment system named Jom Comment. Here are the other advantages of Jom Comment:

AJAX-based. Comments are added on the fly without reloading the whole page. This actually saves your server bandwidth.

Real-time comment updates. As you type your comment, you will be able to see if some else just post something to the server. You get to read their comment and perhaps edit your comment a little bit.

Template-based The whole layout is templatized!. Changing from 1 look to the other is a matter of selecting a new template! You don’t have to hack the code.

Spam protection A few spam protection methods will be built in such as flood control, domain blocking and Captcha (image challenge).

Compatible with non-AJAX browser. Compatible with ALL browsers. If your browser does not support AJAX, Jom Comment will still work.

RSS feeds for comment. Readers will be able to subscribe to the discussion via RSSrnA free-version is available from our website, www.azrul.com. Try it out and give your Joomla website an uplift!

It pretty much sucks : joomlanewbie
8.95 is not much, but this software is not even worth that much IMHO
still with bugs, it is not THAT much better than AKOCOMMENT to justify switching, much more PAYING for it.

At time of writing, does NOT work as promised with javascript off.

AJAX! : rach
if there's one component that needs AJAX, it has to be the comment system! there were a few bugs when it was first released, but the developer has been helpful and been improving it. i have to give him credit for that. i've also had asked him about rtf-utl, here's what he said...

"utf-8 is fully supported. All data is stored in utf-8 format. Displaying it is a whole different story. It is not tested with rtl, but when joomla 1.5 is release with proper utf-8 support, it should work just fine."

translations should be on the way, along with templates. will be much more advanced later on.

Paid component for $8.50 : joomlanewbie
If there is one thing that doesnt need AJAX power I would say it's a comment module.

It 's just not better or different enough to justify switching from AkoComment much more PAYING for it..

Now if it had a rating module as part of the whole deal maybe, but right now, especially with the bugs it has (I'll leave those as exercises for the developer and reader to discover! :p I don't do free bug reports for pay software, sorry!)

talk is cheap : azrulrhm
It is easy to bad-mouth my product. But with only 1 return from over hundreds of satisfied user, I think that speak volume of what other people thinks.

Check out real user review at joomla extension site.

imo it's the right component with the wrong marketing strategy. As the 12.50 usd version still has an ad (powered by) i think it's a bit too expensive. (looking at it from designer point of view)
Might even be smarter to give out a free version with the "powered by" and a paid version without it. That way more sites'll use it, more will know it exists and the ones needing to remove the powered by will eventually pay.
