switched Mambo SMF components, problem with Itemid
« on: November 14, 2005, 12:01:14 AM »

I switched from Orstio's Mambo SMF bridge to the Mambohacks' bridge as I needed to use Community Builder. I uninstalled the package and the smf forum and registration components I was using and installed the Mambohacks version. Everything seems to be working fine except when I publish the Who's Online module and set it to link to the SMF profile, it has the wrong Itemid. The Mambohacks forum component I installed has an Itemid of 46...the links to the Who's Online member profiles have an Itemid of 45. My original forum component had an Itemid 32. Did I make a mistake somewhere and is there anyway to edit the Itemid? I looked in mySQL and tried manually editing the id to 46 but it rejected this saying that the value already existed...

Thank you

You can edit it manually.

Go to joomla menu table using mySQL, then edit the id. Remember the id's must be unique. Delete the other 32, then change 46 to 32.

Thanks Johnny  Smiley

After reading your post I went back to phpMYAdmin and noticed that I had 2 forum components listed. Although I uninstalled the original component I was using, it was still in the database. After I deleted the forum component with Itemid 45, the profile links are now referencing 46 correctly.

Thanks again  Cool

Hello again,

I am reviving this thread in the sense that I have noticed another problem with Itemid. I am trying to do everything I can to fix my issues without having to do a fresh install of both Mambo and SMF since the site has already gone live. These problems I didn't encounter on my localhost test which is what is so peculiar....

I am using the Community Builder login which logs me in to both Mambo and SMF, no problem there. The profiles issue pointing to the wrong Itemid has been fixed. I have noticed though that logging in to the site from the login link, both the button and the vb style box at the bottom from the forum page itself, will log me in but with an Itemid of 28 when it should be 46. Since I have a template assigned to the forum, the layout is wrong and certain portions are unreadable.

Can someone help?

Thank you
