Unable to login to SMF Forum from Joomla

Environment:
Joomla v1.0.2
SMF Forum v1.0.5
Joomla-SMF Component v1.0.2a
PHP v4.4.1
MySQL v4.0.25-standard
Linux-Apache

I've just installed SMF-Forum together with the Joomla integration for SMF. Everything went ok and the installation checklist was completed without any problems.

A Forum menu button was placed in the main menu. When I click on it and try to login to the forum using a Joomla registered user account, I get thrown back to the site home page. The same happens when I try to login using the administrator logon that I created when installing SMF.

If I change the configuration to unwrapped, exactly the same behaviour happens.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.

the SMF-Bridge 1.0.2a is not for SMF 1.0.5!

Upgrade to SMF 1.1 RC1
