| Like the subject title says, the SMF component seems to be ignoring the published/unpublished state of modules. I first noticed the problem when after finally getting the login module to actually login, it was disapearing when I followed the forum link from the main page. I checked to make sure it was set to display on 'all' After messing around a little more I noticed that if you view the page source it was creating the table, but the table itself is empty. If is also creating a table for a module that no longer exists at all, it is even keeping the custom class name of the module that has been deleted. To experiment a little I unpublished all modules. The smf component is still displaying all the modules as if I never turned them off. The global options have caching turned off, otherwise that would have been my first guess as to why things that dont exist or have been disabled still show. Another issue I came across was that the SEF 404 component I was using before upgrading to Joomla does not work with this bridge, it causes links to be missing quotes which then screws up the rest of the code on the page and breaks the entire layout and the links. I just upgraded from Mambo 4.5.2.3 to Joomla 1.0.3 and upgraded SMF from 1.0.5 to 1.1 RC1 Both upgrades went perfectly individualy. I had previously been using the MOS-SMF component but had uninstalled it prior to my upgrade and decided to try this one instead. Hopefully I can get this figured out soon, otherwise I may have to switch components again. [EDIT] I suppose I should have played with it a bit more before posting. During the upgrade/replacement of my site I had made a duplicate database so the original would be completely intact after i had switched everything over. It seems in my lack-of-sleep daze I forgot to change the database name in the SMF Settings.php So for future reference, having SMF on a different database than Joomla works, but not with this component ![]() |
