1. In this article, there's a sample on how to insert flash on a page.

2. To use the poll, Go to Joomla admin >>Modules >>Site Modules
then click Polls, publish it to the position where you want it.

TO USE FLASH:

Go to http://developer.joomla.org/sf/frs/do/viewSummary/projects.joomla_clock/frs

That gives you a joomla clock which is a flash file

now, unzip the module (preserving the directory structure)
and copy YOUR flash module ontop of flash.swf

(so if your flash was called partyintro.swf you would copy it to the clock.swf, overwriting it)

zip the files back up in to a zip file.

go to your joomla admin and load the module

(it will still be called joomla clock, but of course will have your flash file in it.)

this is quick dirty and 100% safe


If you can wait till weekend or later, I'll modify the module so you can add   the name of your OWN flash file.


For polls

How to use polls.

There is no integration of POLLS in Joomla.

You set them up in the back end, publish them, and people choose choices - then you can see what the majority of people wanted.

What would be TRUE INTEGRATION is if JOOMLA allowed you to setup an action to occur based on the results of the poll at a certain time.

i.e. If everyone chose a particular song to be the opening song at the site,at the end of the poll period it would run that program....
