Thanks for reply but I am still struggling with this.

In your installation guide (http://www.joomlahacks.com/images/stories/step3b.gif) you are refering to a catalog with name "public_html".

My Joomla main path is called "/usr/home/web/wno86973" with no "public_html" catalog. My server provider tells me that they do not allow for writeable root level (my root level is /usr/home/web/wno86973)

I am not getting pass this problem and are hoping for help to get my Joomla/SMF integration going - please:-)

Hilsen Arild

Ref:
PERMISSION SETTINGS:
Configuration file (/usr/home/web/wno86973/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php) is writeable
Joomla cache directory (/usr/home/web/wno86973/cache) is writeable
Joomla index file (/usr/home/web/wno86973/index.php) is writeable
Joomla main path (/usr/home/web/wno86973) file or the parent path is not writeable!

Hi, Arild,

Are you using a FTP client to access your web host account?  If so, try going "up" one level from your Joomla install directory and right click on wno86973 to see the permissions.
