You might concider at the top having the component check for write access on those 2 files as well.
Thanks a bunch, awesome job on the hack,
Rick
no problem, rick... that's a good suggestion. I did notice that this is the issue of most users. But i'm sure it must have gave you an error message when you were unable to patch it. Anyway, I guess I will just put a big warning to say whether configuration is not complete. |

System: Joomla 1.0.2 Joomla SMF 1.0.1b SMF 1.1 RC1 Not using the Joomla-SMFlogin module
Hi,
I am determined to get this excellent component to work.
I have reinstalled 1.0.1b as I see there were some issues that have been fixed. My installation is correct. I have a screen shot if you want it of the configuration that shows all is ok but still there is a weird problem.
If I login to Joomla and then logout it takes me to the login prompt for SMF and says I need to login! That is not right.
7If I try and login to SMF at this point it says...
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare db_query() (previously declared in D:\inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php:234) in D:\Inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php on line 234
I am now stuck in a loop - I cannot logout of Joomla and cannot login to SMF. Why is this?
Now if I force a logout through the admin in Joomla and try and log back in it reports...
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare db_query() (previously declared in D:\inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php:234) in D:\Inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php on line 234
Now if I go back to the forum I am still logged in!
There does appear to be a login/cookie/sync problem in here somewhere.
HELP!!! This is completely screwy. I love this component and want to use it but 1.0.1 has the administrator problem and 1.0.1b doesn't handle the login/logout correctly. I would really appreaciate your help.

Rupert, I have no way to resolve your issue because I told you, I don't have an IIS box. . I did try to register there, to see what I can do, but it seems your site has other problems. I got this while registering... Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to :25 in D:\Inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\Mambo\includes\phpmailer\class.smtp.php on line 105

I have fixed the mailer problem and reinstlled the bridge for the 5th time. The install shows OK but still I get the error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare setlogincookie() (previously declared in D:\Inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs-Auth.php:113) in D:\inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs-Auth.php on line 113
This happens if I login to Joomla then click in the forums link and then if I logout nd try to log bck in I get
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare db_query() (previously declared in D:\inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php:234) in D:\Inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php on line 234

OK, done a clean install again. I don't get any eror messages if I don't do the
click to patch Patch mambo index.php file. click to patch Patch SMF index.php and Sources/Subs-Post.php file. (Note: Unpatch before upgrading SMF or installing mod.)
What are these actually doing? And could something have been corrupted along the way?
If they are both patched I get
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare db_query() (previously declared in D:\inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php:234) in D:\Inetpub\vhosts\boiledsweets.com\subdomains\dev\httpdocs\forum\Sources\Subs.php on line 234

those 2 are important. otherwise your smf and joomla will not be integrated.
i'm sure this is something in IIS. i just need an IIS box to look at it. if you want give me an access to your box and ill take a look at it when i get a chance.

I don't have access to the IIS - this site is on a managed server. Are there any particular settings I could ask the ISP to check for you?
The thing is this used to work OK with SMF bridge 1.0.1 apart from the JOOMHACKS thing screwing the administrators password.

Hi,
could you please make 1.0.1a available to me to try that to see if the problem was introduced at 1.0.1b because I am sure that it started with 1.0.1b. With 1.0.1 I was getting the administrators password mangling problem. So maybe 1.0.1a for me will be stable and might narrow down where the problem lies. Many thanks.

YES!!!!
IT WORKS AGAIN! OK so 1.0.1a works perfectly but 1.0.1b causes the problem (see above) this is good - at least we have narrowed down the problem.
Is there any chance you can fix this now?
MANY THANKS!

1.0.1b fixes is small and i don't see any relevance with your errors. And there's already lots of users who downloaded who's not having your problem. Therefore, I believe the issue you're experiencing is purely platform related.
If I just have an IIS box, I can easily debug your problem with 1.0.1b.

It seems that I am experience some of the same problems which are discussed in this thread.
The SFM Forum Configuration form states the following: PERMISSION SETTINGS: Configuration file (/usr/home/web/wno86973/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php) is writeable Joomla cache directory (/usr/home/web/wno86973/cache) is writeable Joomla index file (/usr/home/web/wno86973/index.php) is writeable Joomla main path (/usr/home/web/wno86973) file or the parent path is not writeable!
and therefor I am not able to the patching INSTALLATION CHECKLIST: installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Joomla. click to patch Patch mambo index.php file. click to patch Patch SMF index.php and Sources/Subs-Post.php file. (Note: Unpatch before upgrading SMF or installing mod.) done [verify] Synchronize Joomla and SMF users (optional).
and are getting the following error message
Failed: /usr/home/web/wno86973/index.php file or the parent path is not writeable!
Can anyone please tell me how I can make the Joomla main path writable?
Best regards Arild
