Cant Find SMF Package
« on: October 05, 2005, 09:21:43 PM »

I just upgraded to SMF 1.1.0 RC1. When I download the latest version of the bridge I don't see the package to install in SMF. The Joomla component shows that I have yet to install the SMF component. I feel like I am overlooking something simple...  Huh

Did you unzip the archive into a directory?

in J! admin backend, go to installers -> components -> browse for com_joomla_smf_forum_1.0.1b.zip

I had no problem installing the Joomla! component. What I am missing is the SMF Package for RC1.
(see attachment)
In previous packages it was called "SMFMamboMod_1.2.zip"

Steve,

It looks like your files are mixed up.
1. Uninstall the previous bridge component. Or delete it manually from Joomla.
2. Uninstall the MAmoSMFMod from SMF Package Manager!

Get 1.0.1b and install it. This time there's no need for an SMF mod.

Thank you very much for the help! Great work on this bridge Cowboy. Cheesy

Joomla! was holding on to the old component. I uninstalled it in the component manager, but I don't think that did the trick. When I tried to delete the com_smf folder it wouldn't let me. I have tried 2 ftp clients and using the cPanel file manager. But I keep getting a "permission denied" or "bad blocks" error. So I renamed the folder, but I think joomla was still hanging on to the old file. Any thoughts?

Glad you figured it out.  This permission error is most likely due to the files/directories having the owner "apache".  I recommend you install the component mamboXplorer, it should help you to delete the rogue files that won't budge.

edit: in case you were wondering, it works fine on my Joomla! 1.0.2
