Integrate login of CB and SMF on Joomla 1.7

Hi, I'm using joomla 1.7 and having an issue on installing JSMF 2.0.2 component. If this extension is not available on joomla 1.7, is there a way to integrate the CB login to SMF in such a way that I could login or logout on either forum or joomla site? Please help...
