Newbie Needs Help with 2 Things

I need help with trying to fix the News Feed on my website. Nothing I've tried to do seems to fix it and I wonder if it's a template issue.

The other thing is the "made by" link at the bottom of the template. I can't find it in the HTML or CSS editing pages, so don't know how to either minimize or get rid of it. Again, I wonder if it's something hard-coded into the template and can't be changed until I learn PHP.

Can anyone please help?
