Is it possible to connect SMF and Joomla trought JSMF 2.0.2. if the joomla and smf are not installed in the same base?

joomla web address is www,something,com
forum web address is www,something,com/forum

it's been 6months since I checked for updates.
currently i'm using:

Your SMF version is: 1.1.4
Your Joomla-SMF version: 2.0.2.1
So i'm thinking to upgrade mine.

Just a quick question, is it compatible with:

There are users that are running this versions on there website.

Please note this is not official tested. When upgrading always make an backup of all your files and you database.

OK I Got A Problem, I Installed SMF and JSMF, And I still Can Make The JSMF work, at all, i installed all the CB_plugins, the componet, The Mods, And The Discuss Bot, When I Publish the smf-joomla mod, this comes up Fatal error: Class 'jsmfFrontend' not found in /home/www/rocker-freaks.co.cc/modules/mod_smf_login.php on line 107 what does that mean??

when i click the link that goes to the bridge, its just a blank page, can some1 help me configure this stuff, so it will work 4 me??

So, may I take it that there is no info available about using the bridge with SMF 1.1.7 ?  That is the version of SMF available to be installed thru my host's Fantastico.

Or, any info about where/how to get hold of older versions of SMF?  I'm willing to install it myself if that's the only way to get the bridge to work.

how can i continue with the installation...if i go to the component i have the button installation without anything down,,,please help

I'm just playing around with Joomla to see if it will do what I require.....

I use SMF v1.1.7 as my message forum, but I have a couple of questions if someone could answer them please?

#1. Will this mod only work with Joomla v1.0 or does it also work with v1.5?
#2. Does the install make any changes to my SMF files or database?
