SMF-simpleboard-joomlaboard which is newer version of which? i'm confused

considering how hard it was to download SMF and as I saw 'repository' at the top of the page, I figured maybe simpleboard or Joomlaboard are newer versions of the same forum.

can anyone clarify this a bit?

Simpleboard or Joomlaboard is very different from SMF. The latest SMF forum package is here for download: http://simplemachines.org/

Simpleboard and Joomlaboard are abandoned. Those two are forked into Fireboard. More information can be found over here: http://www.bestofjoomla.com/
