Hi Edwin,

Could you give us some more information? For example: was this a fresh install? version numbers of JSMF, Joomla!, SMF and is SMF working stand alone?

Ok, this is the information:
- yes, this is my first installation JSMF with joomla.
- version number of JSMF is 2.0.2 (the newest)
- i didn't install stand alone SMF but integrated with joomla...
- version of the joomla is 1.0.12 (stable version)

all of the links if main menu and top menu don't work
(broken) after installation of SMF...

I don't know why...

Thanks...

first you must have a running SMF installation. After you installed SMF and configured it, you can install the bridge.

Please upgrade to the latest version of Joomla. There have been a lot of security fixes.

Edwin, did you read and understand the installation manual?

I am having the exact same problem. I use joomla 1.0.15 jsmg 2.0.2.1 and smf 1.1.4

I've read the user guide and in the admin panel I disabled search engine friendly urls. In joomla administrator panel I have enabled in Site -> Global Configuration -> SEO both SEF urls and dynamic pages.

What I have done wrong?  Huh

I have installed jsmf in a local copy of my site. Not in the original online site. However if you have something in mind I could set up my apache and give you my ip address to check it.

Okay, it's installed on a test server. Do you have mod_rewrite active on apache? Sometimes it's not installed by default.

Does disabeling seo in Joomla solve your problem?

Yes, mod_rewrite is enabled in apache.

If I disable SEO in Joomla all the urls work fine. However then there will be a problem for all those who have bookmarked my links and for google as well..

Hmmm, looks like an ordinary Joomla SEO problem. You have renamed the htaccess.txt to .htaccess? And does your server user .htaccess?

In my main joomla directory I only have .htaccess as well as in
/forum/Packages/backups/.htaccess and
/forum/attachments/.htaccess

I have no htaccess.txt somewhere.

In the root of the Joomla package there is a file named htaccess.txt. Unpack this file, upload it to your joomla root and rename it to .htaccess. Afterwards enable SEO in the Joomla administration.

Is there any relation with AllowOverride in httpd.conf?

This is what I've got now.

Code:
<Directory />
    Options FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride None
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
</Directory>

Code:
<Directory "/home/httpd/html">
    #
    # Possible values for the Options directive are "None", "All",
    # or any combination of:
    #   Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks SymLinksifOwnerMatch ExecCGI MultiViews
    #
    # Note that "MultiViews" must be named *explicitly* --- "Options All"
    # doesn't give it to you.
    #
    # The Options directive is both complicated and important.  Please see
    # http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/core.html#options
    # for more information.
    #
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks

    #
    # AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess files.
    # It can be "All", "None", or any combination of the keywords:
    #   Options FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
    #
    AllowOverride None

    #
    # Controls who can get stuff from this server.
    #
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all

</Directory>

I found out the solution!

I changed AllowOverride None to AllowOverride All and now all links work with SEO enabled in Joomla!

Thanks for your time and your help locutus.  Smiley
