Joomla-SMF to just SMF
« on: February 23, 2008, 02:59:30 AM »

I am using Joomla hacks bridge on one of my site and I am thinking about shifting to just SMF since I am not using the Joomla part very much.

So is this possible considering the database migration? If yes, any tips?

Thanks

No, I just want to use SMF, Joomla is not required any more.

How do I migrate the Joomla-SMF databse to just Joomla?

First backup! Next, unpatch and after that uninstall the JSMF bridge. Now You can remove the Joomla files. In case of problems you could overwrite existing SMF with a fresh (full version) SMF download.

Thanks for the input, what if I want to just use the SMF database for an entirely new SMF-only site?

The problem is that the Joomla-SMF bridge contains Joomla part and the SMF part. How to make a single SMF part out of that?

Just remove the tables beginning with jos_ in phpmyadmin after you did the steps I described before. Oh, BTW did I mention to backup before you begin?  Grin
