how to integrate SMF search in joomla search

now I have two search boxes on the forum page, one from joomla search (from theme), and one from bridged smf, how can I federate the smf search with joomla search so that user can just use the joomla search box, which will come up with content from both joomla conent and smf forum?

search the forums, there was an plugin but it is not in development any more. Maybe ths still works
