Advice before i bridge "Solved"
« on: October 17, 2007, 03:00:57 PM »

Hi guys, i have installed my joomla site & two sms forums behind it. That is on question. If i bridge what will happen. I have built boards in both, but if needed wiping is not a biggy. What i am more concerned about is i am an extreme novie PHPer, my skills go as far as follow the advice of expierenced programers. I installed sigsiu onto joomla & have spent hundreds of hours building a directory (sort yellow pages) will the bridge installation conflict with the sigsui. I currently shut of the front page login capabilites on joomla & as a real novice spent many weeks trying to wrap the sms in joomla ( changing urls on buttons etc...)with many wasted hours and half ass results. I am really concerned about bridging as i spent many painfull weeks working out turning of safe mode in joomla, getting sigsiu to fuction correctly, & now after countless months of building to find my self here in a forum of people who seem to know what they are doing. I really want to bridge, but my site is semi commercial and i am frightened of down time or destruction.
Advice on what to do, or what i should be concerned of, before i jump in boots and all. I am over the moon that i found joomlahacks for more than one 1 reason. Advice please Huh It will be worth its weight in gold.

Just search the forums… and test it your self.

There is not coming a bride for J1.5 (for so far)
There is not coming a Bridge for SMF 2.0 (for so far)
There are not coming any updates for the existing Bridge (for so far)
Why? There is no developer that is working active at the Bridge.

This is the reason many J! users that want to Bridge SMF are migrating to Mambo. So you can consider to move on to Mambo. There is a way to migrate J! to Mambo Wink

The Bridge for Mambo is even better then the J! one Tongue
