hi,

Version Information:
Your Joomla version is: 1.0.13
Your SMF version is: 1.1.4
Your Joomla-SMF version: 2.0.2

pretty new to this but am sure I have set it up correctly but when i try to create a new user using the joomla registration form the new user gets set up but when i try to log in with the new user i get:

incorrect username and password error.

but if i log into joomla as admin i can see the user has been created?

also this user can't log into the forum either?

also neither can the admin?

any ideas?

thanks

Marc

This is exactly my problem too. So have you found a solution?

Hi,

I am having this exact same problem. Same version numbers too.

The only thing I have found is if I go to the JSMF/About page I can see the following information:

Warning: fopen() [function.fopen]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in D:\hshome\alfaireland\alfaireland.ie\administrator\components\com_smf\admin.smf.class.php on line 2041

Warning: fopen(http://www.joomlahacks.com/news/mh_mambo_smf_update.rdf) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in D:\hshome\alfaireland\alfaireland.ie\administrator\components\com_smf\admin.smf.class.php on line 2041

I have just installed 2.0.2.1 and it didn't work.

Tried it again 10 mins later and it worked??

Perhaps a cache issue?

Anyway, it's works so I'm not going to worry about it!

Thanks for a great component.

Same we my site. There seems to be no way of synchronizing the the usernames. I finally gave up and switched back to the CB login Mod

I upgraded approximately two weeks ago and issues sprang up the other day, which includes this one and the issue pertaining to the Subs-Auth.php Line 174 reference, which results each time you log out. I commented out the line, and it went away. I tried resyncing my users, but that didn't work.

I am able to login to the forum, using the forum login, but I am unable to login using the SMF-Hacks login module.

I am beginning to understand what may be causing some issues with this thing.  I am not sure that this applies to everyone with this problem, however, perhaps a few.

Some people may have had their SMF database in a different location (database) than Joomla.  It is easy enough to migrate it over to the Joomla database...  however something has to change on the SMF side because the core files/code is still looking at the old database.  I think this could be causing some issues.  I am not sure what needs to change on the SMF side to have it look at the new location.

Does anyone know?

Thanks
