Joomla and SMF integration problem

Hello, My system is:

Joomla 1.0.13
SMF 1.1.4
JSMF 2.0.2
CB 1.1
PHP 5.1.6
MYSQL 5.0.27

I am having a trouble with getting this integrated. When I login to Joomla and go to the forums. The login box still appears in the SMF and then when I click on another link it logs me out of joomla. When I installed everything it seemed to go ok. No error mesages. I installed SMF into the same database as Joomla and used the same username, password and email address as my joomla administrator account.

I read the user guide and one thing it said was to use the external URL for the forum and not the joomla link. When I install the bridge component it automatically created a menu item and uses the joomla link to the forum in the installation. It will not get me edit it as it is greyed out.

What am I doing wrong? Why won't this integrate properly? my website is www.norwestdata.com for anyone that wants to help me out.
