problems with login - even after update to 2.0.2.1
« on: October 03, 2007, 07:18:59 PM »

joomla: 1.0.12
smf: 1.1.4
bridge: 2.0.2 -> update the smf.class.php file so it's 2.0.2.1 now

even after the update, the joomla login is not working... it keeps diplaying the message I do not have authorization to acess this area of the site... you need to login first...

tried regular members, admin and super admin

Check jsmf configuration to see what login form you want to use (joomla, smf or CB).

Did you have Community builder installed?
In this case you should install the plugin cb_plug_smf from
components->community builder->plugin management

After that, to use the CB login form you must add it to the menu and disable the default joomla login form

i am not using CB.

I used joomla login and patched all necessary files.

I also had a problem with admin and super admin members. I am transferring a simpleboard/joomlaboard to smf and I am a super admin and also the one with more replies on the forum. But after install smf, bridge and convert the forum, I was not able to login...

I have seen similar problems around the forum related to admin and super admin users... but could not find a correct answer for what to do. It was necessary to put the backup database back and I am afraid to do again and have same problems, ie. admin/super admin and also login...

any light?

When converting an Forum to SMF:
-use the correct converter from Simplemachines.
-when you converted the Forum first check it if everything is working (When having problems with converting then you can better go to the Simplemachines forums)

-when it works then you can install the bridge (best thing to do is to follow the steps in the User Guide)

http://www.simplemachines.org/download/?converters

Please read the User Guide for installation instructions

Best place to ask questions about SMF or Joomla! is to go to there Support sites. This is not a problem of the Bridge.

Best way to start.
-Put your backup back
-convert the your forum to SMF
-when this all works then you can use the Bridge installation. (By following the user guide)

And when asking questions on an support forum be specific with your problem! Have you problems with the J! users or with SMF users. Think with J!?

Better to place your database backup back Wink

ok, will do that.
one more question:

it's really necessary to syncronize users in bridge backend panel?

I have more than 10k users and I imagine this can take quite a while. I tried the first time and after a long time, I got a blank screen. I could see the users in smf but had the problem with admin/super admin.

if I do not make this, can I login in smf to see if everything is okay or it's necessary to syncronize before?
