Change password

i'm using Joomla! 1.0.13 and SMF 1.1.3
my problem is:
- user changed his password
- when he login again
- "password or username incorrect"
- but when the page refresh, he still logged in
- when he click the forum link
- cannot login: password incorrect

i found a way to overcome this - change the password at forum instead of the CB page.but is there anyway so anyone can change his password there?
