Login impossible since applying JSMF 2.02
« on: August 18, 2007, 01:02:19 PM »

Previous Config
Joomla: 1.0.11
SMF: 1.1.RC2
JSMF: 1.1.4.2
Mod_SMF_login: 1.4.2
CB: N/A
PHP: 4.4.4
MySQL: 4.1.10

Current Config
Joomla: 1.0.13
SMF: 1.1.3
JSMF: 2.0.2
Mod_SMF_login: 2.0.4
CB: N/A
PHP: 4.4.4
MySQL: 4.1.10

Hello,

This is out of despair that I am writing. My site has been working fine on "Previous Config" (see above) for more than a year. I have now upgraded to "Current Config" (see above) but front end login is impossible.

After passing almost my entire day on this issue, I am still not able to login anymore. I have been searching this forum and read/follow the advice of the jsmf user guide to try to find clues etc... I have cleared all my caches, I have patch/unpatch & synchronised a 100 times to no avail.

The symptoms are as follows:
Using either Joomla login box or Mod_SMF_login box nothing happens the page is refreshed but login does not occur, no error messages.
If I try to login from the login section on my forum page, same symptoms as above + jump to site front page.

This problem only occurs when the Patch is applied, if unpatched, login in Joomla and/or SMF is working 100%

So I guess that there is some DB sync problems somewhere but don't really know where\what to look for. Any pointer on this would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Uou wrote that you use the 2.0.2 with J! 1.0.13?

The 2.0.2 Bridge is not compatible with J! 1.0.13. Use the 2.0.2.1

Thanks I must admit this made my day Smiley

Unfortunately another glitch cropped up, posting pages appeared corrupted Huh http://www.joomlahacks.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,94/topic,3309.msg17580#msg17580.

As mentioned in the above link, the way to remove the problem is to disable the "Smiley popup"... Ok cool but where is the damn popup option setting? Read on:

Go to SMF admin, look for the "Forum" box, click on "Smileys and Message Icons", click on "Settings", uncheck the "Enable customized smileys:" checkbox, click on the "Save Shanges" and that should be it.

At least it worked for me Smiley

In the hope that it will help others - all the best!!
