OK, You're right... it was a users guide missreading problem. The erros did not appear...
Now... the thing that happens is that it does not patch the joomla source file Failed: Code to be patched not found in file: require_once( 'includes/frontend.php' );/home/estcsite/public_html/tic113/index.php
but I'll look for them online... thanks again Superdaantje
E/well I have the joomla 1.0.13 and smf 1.1.3, with com_smf2.0.2.1... is there a specific index.php patch for these versions? Still haven't found it...
I suppose I can't use the 1.0.12 patch index...
/EDIT: it works, finally. I tried again and this time there was no error page. Don't know why I got it in the first place.
Now I just want the forum to open in a new window.. but I suppose that'll be easy!

Hey guys! I'm in the process of setting up a new joomla site and I have an existing SMF forum. Both are the latest versions and when I install the the bridge and sync the users, the users are added to joomla but I get a script error "unterminated string constant" line: 1 character: 66 what is weird is if I reset the users password, I can login fine.

I searched the forum first. I'm only asking because I can't find any answers. I know people have had login problems but I found no post with the mentioned error.
Nice component and great coding but i have still problems to login in the frontend.
new joomla 1.0.13 smf 1.1.3 from today jsfm com 2.0.2.1 from this post jsfm login module 2.0.4 from download area
if i patch joomla core files and sfm files in the component configuration i can't login into the frontend by using jsfm-module. un-patch, the normal joomla login module works fine.
And now after I logout on backend administrator, I can't login again. I have this error: Incorrect Username, Password or Access Level, Please Try Again
OMG Thank You! That fixed everything! It works like a dream. One question though, is there a Joomla! 1.5 Login module being worked on, or is out?
I realize that this thread is for the updated 1.0.13 version of Joomla, but has this question been answered anywhere? I've searched, and I'm not finding anything.
My site was hacked into a fishing site so I had to upgrade in a rush and forgot to unpatch the files. After I could not unpatch it so I desinstalled and deleted everything including the index.htm jsback but I always have the same message : "Another component is already using directory: "/home/monstr/public_html/components/com_smf/" when trying to install the component.
But the folder has been deleted and there is no other component associated to Jsmf ! I have searched the forums for hours but could not find any solution
Trying to figure out how to upgrade. I did what was said in the first post

NOTE: For people who wish to upgrade from 2.0.2, simply upload the new smf.class.php file into components/com_smf.
I uploaded the smf.class.php, but nothing changed, I still show 2.0.2 in my control panel?
I searched the site using 'Upgrade' and read through 4 pages of searches but nothing speaks directly to how to upgrade to latest version. Whenever I do find the question I only find "Search the forums" and "Read the User Guide". I checked the user guide, several times and even used search for 'Upgrade' and again came up with nothing.
I am reasonably sure that all I need to do is go to the control panel > Components > Joomla-SMF Forums > Install > unpatch first and click to patch and verify. But because I am unable find anything to confirm this, I'm a bit hesitant to begin.
