SMF Bridge 1.1.7 to Joomla-SMF 2.0.2
« on: August 01, 2007, 12:55:00 PM »

First I must say I am not very good at installing components and getting them working properly.

I am currently trying to use the SMF Bridge 1.1.7 by Orstio. I have been in that forum and getting help from Orstio. The bridge is not working properly and it is narrowed down to one line of code which he has sent me different versions none of which I can get to work. He seems to have quit answering the post so I feel I am at a point where I have to look for different options. I and site members have not been able to login through joomla for the past three days.

Am I going to mess things up even more by trying to switch to the Joomla-SMF 2.0.2?

Are there things not covered in the instructions that I need to know about before proceeding? My Joomla, SMF and CB are already installed. Joomla and SMF use the same data base. I want to use the CB user registration. I will not be upgrading to Joomla 1.0.13 due to all the conflicts with other components and I am using several. I am assuming the bridge only effects the log in and registration for joomla SMF and CB. Are there any other known components or modules that might be affected?

Joomla 1.0.12
SMF 1.1.3
CB 1.0.2
OpenSEF
several other components modules and mombots.

The Simplemachines Bridge is a very good bridge and does his work very good.

When you not have many experience with installing Components and so one. I can advise you to begin with only a Joomla! and SMF integration. This mean not CB or open Sef. When the basic install works you can move on with the CB integration. And about openSef you really have to know something about Joomla! and SMF.

First start reading the User Guide and use the search option on the forums there is many info about the Bridge and the installation and maintaining of the Bridge
