image directory incorrect? [solved]
« on: July 06, 2007, 06:01:10 PM »

smf v 1.1.2
joomla v 1.0.12
php 5+
apache2triad bundle

History of problem.
I am new to Joomla (started yesterday night). I have done a good bit of reading but have not put all the dots together. I have always used SMF and to date have always used a hand coded "wrapper". I have recently descided to use Joomla while I finish the development of my site. I installed it on my system today. The same system I have SMF on. I also installed the bridge. That is all I have installed. I have done little configuring based on what i have been able to piece together. The Joomla url is ---------------- (is now http://dclabs.no-ip.org after reinstallation)
Now this brings me to a problem. I installed the bridge per the instructions in the JSMF Users Guide. but when i went to check the forum (progress check) none of the images are showing up... all the databases and contect and functions (except the shoutbox on the forum) work but no images from the theme. I am using the default smf theme and it works fine if i navigate directly to the forum without the joomla. So what gives? The only thing i can think of is that the two directories run parellel instead of the forum being inside the joomla folder.

Forum path = ...htdoc/forums/001/
Joomla path = ...htdoc/ds/

Did you run the patches after the install and do you have the "Include CSS from SMF Theme:" enabled in the JSMF configuration? If you didn't it will not include the SMF stylesheets in the <head> of the site.

FIXED
I am also having a problem with CB... I installed it along with smf plugins and other plugins and such It all seems to install fine.  After completing the install and adding the menu items (Profile and user list) I checked to see if it worked Smiley it did.. so i went to do as it said and load the sample data for the user inputs... after hitting that button nothing works now... the site comes up with the menus and graphics but none of the content is showing within the main window... and none of the links seem to work either... it wont even let me log out... This is just a sample install so i can learn joomla and its components but I can't learn if it wont work Smiley I can still logg into the admin panel so how do i fix this?
FIXED

I have reinstalled fresh and solved this problem. But I am still having the original problem even on this fresh install.  This time I installed the SMF forum in a subdirectory under the Joomla tree. Databases are shared... the only step i did not do is step 2.1.5 om tje user guide. Migrating the existing SMF Database to Joomla Database... but I do not see why this would cause the theme to malfunction while wrapped. (It does not have problems while not wrapped)
I have installed everything applicable that was mentioned in the guide... I have to say this is a bug perhaps? Is there a problem between Joomla 1.0.12 and SMF 1.1.2 ? or the bridge? or is it me again? Could I please get some input on this... even if its just speculation... any ideas are better than none.

I almost fixed my problem by desabling the cache..... how odd.... even still its a mix between the joomla template and the smf theme...

The Smf themes dont seem to work at all... I managed to get the main tables to appear but anything against the background vanishes against the black background that is not supposed to be there.... and if i install a new theme and apply it it pops out of the main window and you have to scroll down under the site to view the forum.... This is just weird... gonna do a little more searching for similar problems but what do you search for lol...

scource of problem located!!! Smiley its the free template lunareclipse (from joomlashack.com) that is causing the problem between smf theme and Joomla.  somehow it's css was interfearing with smfs css... anyone want to verify this for me so i can notify the creator and be sure i am not incorrect?

I really like this template... i do not know how to find the artist who wrote it... anyone know how to fix it? I have already made new images to customise it to my taste.....  (I like the layout and the callapse menu feature)

I think this has become an issue for another area of the forum so please Just let it fall off the board... I will post my problem and findings someplace else in the forum.
