Need Some help regarding Bridge with Joomla

Hi,

  I am very new to web stuff, yesterday i installed the Joomla, and want to add forums , upon some searc i found out about the bridge by joomlahacks.com
i downloaded  SMF the latested one , and bridge Joomla-SMF_1.1RC2_including_patches1-3.zip, according to readme i manage to install the component and no problem pretty straight....

i have chmod the folders and files  777.

out of  4 three are installed

1) installed     Install SMF Forum on the same database as Joomla.
2) click to patch    Patch Joomla Source Files. tooltip
3) done [un-patch]    Patch SMF Source Files (Note: Unpatch before    upgrading SMF or installing mod.) tooltip
4) done [verify]    Synchronize Joomla and SMF users (optional).


2) one is not patched ....   message "Failed: /home/abc/public_html/pa1/index.php file or the parent path is not writeable!"


I have add full rights to pa1 folder  & also to index.php

but still same message failed.....

This may or may not be related to your problem, but you are not using the most current version of the bridge.  The current version is Joomla-SMF Forum 2.0.2, located at http://www.joomlahacks.com/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,41/func,select/id,14/.
