Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in .....

hi folks, I recently installed Joomla-SMF, ( great component thank you!) and seemed to be working fine for the last few weeks, but now I cannot access the site, I am getting error messages that seem to be related to the componenent.

When I go to the website home page I get an error message:

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/hospicef/public_html/components/com_smf/smf.class.php on line 254"

I am using:
Joomla 1.0.11 -
J-SMF 2.0.2
SMF 1.1
PHP version 4.4.6
MySQL version 4.1.22-standard

When I click on any aspect of this componenet in the Administrator section I get another error message:
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/hospicef/public_html/administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.php on line 199"

The forum itself is in a folder called /forum/ when you try to access this , it too shows an error message:

http://www.hospicefriendlyhospitals.net/forum/

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/hospicef/public_html/forum/index.php on line 193"

I have asked my host company to take a look - they say nothing has changed on my server for the last few days.

can anyone tell me if this is soemthgin i can fix or do i need to unisntal the componenmt entirey and startagain? ( i would obviously prefer not to have to do this!)
