404 error when using the "jump to" box

Joomla 1.0.12
SMF 1.1.2
JSMF 2.0.2
CB not using
PHP 4.4.6
MySQL 4.1.21

I am having a problem that is resulting in a 404 error page being displayed. It only occurs when I run smf inside joomla, not when I access the forum outside of joomla. When I am looking at a post or a forum list and click on the "go" button next to the "jump to" drop down menu this error occurs ONLY if I am attempting to go to the forum I am currently in. If I use it to go to a different forum then it works correctly.

I noticed that if I use the pulldown menu then it will automatically change to the selected forum without having to click the go button. I suppose I could even just take the go button off the page if I could figure out how.

Any ideas?

Hi,

i have the same problem. Is there no solution yet?
Tested with IE6/7 and Firefox.

Maybe a problem with the SEF URLs?

When using Sef url’s. I have tested Opensef and JoomSef. Both are not working that good with the bridge in wrapped mode.

Jus diable sef url’s for the Com_smf and empty the JSMF cash this has worked for me and for some of the sites I maintain.

I'm using only the standard SEO from Joomla. No extra packages like OpenSef or something else. As far as I can see, the SEO is working because the URLs look like this: /component/option,com_smf/Itemid,215/board,1.0/

Everything seems to work, except the Jump Menu. Switching between boards works fine. Only when i'm looking at a specic thread and want to jump one level up back in the board containing this thread I receive the 404.

How do I disable SEF/SEO in com_smf?

Here ist the URL to our board:
http://www.countrymusicnews.de/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,215/topic,1361.0/

scrolling down and pushing the Go/Los Button results in the 404 Error.

I am getting the same error, on mine, when I am in a forum reading a topic and then click the jump box "go" button it takes me to a 404 page. The only thing different is that there is no trailing slash in the URL, if I add that, the page is found.

Any ideas how to fix? It looks like Bryan has fixed his site.

After turning off Joomla SEF URL's in my global config this now works, but that is quite a sacrifice.
