Re: WHAT IS MAMBO-SMF / INSTALLATION FAQ:
« on: June 07, 2005, 04:17:30 AM »

Sorry, I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong here.  I have mambo 4.5.2

To quote:

"1. How to install SMF on existing Mambo database?
Extract the SMF zip files on a sub-folder of you mambo absolute path.

example:
/home/public_html/         --> mambo absolute path
/home/public_html/smf/  --> smf install files

Point your browser to the SMF install url and begin installing SMF. Installation should be straight-forward."

I downloaded MamboSMFForum_1.3.1.2.zip, and extracted the two zip files:
com_mambo_smf_forum_1.3.1.2.zip, and
SMFMamboMod_1.3.1a.zip
into my mambomaindirectory/forum/ directory, just like your example i've quoted.

I then go to that directory in my browser, and get a completely blank page.

I really am not finding this "relatively straight forward from here on!"  Embarrassed

I can install the component, although the instructions to "set the directory to where it is installed" aren't exactly clear either.  I set it to where the component installed, i.e. mainwebdirectory\components\com_smf and it gives an error, and similarly when i set it to my mainwebdirectory\forum\ directory.

Please, could you elaborate to help me and my disdirected understanding?  Smiley

Thankyou VERY much in advance, I look forward to trying SMF!
