Install error @ joomla patch

i get this error when trying to patch

Failed: Code to be patched not found in file: /homepages/7/d168536085/htdocs/vanguard/index.php

using Joomla! 1.0.12 Stable and smf 1.12

Please read the user guide this is mentioned in the user guide Smiley Also you will find the sollution on the forums Wink

where is the user guide. I did a search on the forums for this error but only fix i saw was "using the wrong version" which if I am I dont know what version to use....

Wow, live box... that was a great help to the poster.. I hope that when you need assistance you're actually provided with a solution with a link. In the documentation, it simply states to download the correctly patched index.php for your version, which by the way is NOT located in the downloads sections.. so.. the hunt goes on. For more than one of us.
