Edit Registration email

I want to edit the registration email to include some welcome speil. I edited the Joomla english.php at circa line 351 to add my text, after user info, and saved.

When I registered a new user, I received an error on the next/confirmation Joomla page, refering to a line in smf_registration.php (438, I think)

I am set to use Bridge registration.

My questions are:

1 Where is the registration email created/sent from?
2 Is there a special way of editing it?
