SMF recent topics module - Include / Exclude feature

What i'm really missing with the SMF recent topics module is the possibility of being able to tell the module either what board to show or what to exclude.

To solve above little request I'm currently using the Alikonweb's mod_smf_last that offers at least the possibility to exclude boards. Works fine, but it has some other issues on how it view the recents posts. As well, in my case I have 39 boards where I only wants to view 4 of them and by that have to exclude the 35 others. So it would be nice to have the possibility of defining a rule where one either picks to include or exclude boards to show or not.

Here is an example on how I'm using the possibility of excluding 35 of the boards and to show only relevant boards within a section of a site:
