Username/Realname

Hi,

Your Joomla version is: 1.0.12
Your SMF version is: 1.1.2
Your Joomla-SMF version: 2.0.2

Many thanks for the bridge - just what I need and so far is working very well. However, I have one problem that I just cannot seem to find an answer about. I have searched this forum and found that others have the same problem but no one seems to have suggested a solution.

The problem is that users register in the Joomla frontend and specify their realname and username in the registration form. When they go to the forum they see that their real name is displayed in posts and not username.
How can I switch this round to display username?

So far I have set 'synchronise username only' to enable or disable and this does not solve this. Also, when I click on the 'memberlist' link at the bottom of the board this shows a list of realnames under the 'username'column!

I would be grateful for any help with this.

Hmm, I just noticed that this forum is the same - my realname has been displayed rather than my username.

So I guess this is a 'feature' of the bridge.

I don't understand how this happen.

UPD: Try change second option "Name format" (Name/Username/Name(Usermane)/Username(Name/etc...)) on "General" tab in CB settings. May be help.

Hello
I use Joomla 1.0.13
SMF 1.1.3
and the 2.0.2.1 Bridge
everthing work fine, but i have the same problem. My Joomla site displayes the username (like i want it) in the SMF it displayes the (real) Name.

Anybody have an idea how to solve this???

Use the search function. Wolverine posted some time ago a SQL query to solve this.

Check the configuration in Joomla Administration panel. There's an option to choose what name to sync.

The 2nd option, choose Enable (the first one) to sync usernames. Choose Disable (2nd) to sync real names.
