Click to Patch Error!

I am getting the following error in step Figure 9 of the installation of JSMF 2.0.2.

Failed: Permission problem, unable to open file: /var/www/vhosts/cabarete.biz/httpdocs/index.php

It States the following in Figure 9 of the User Manual:

Figure 9 - Click Save
• Click on the link ‘click to patch’ in front of the text Patch Joomla! Source Files
Result should be done [un-patch]
Alternatively, use one of the patched Joomla! indexes in the JSMF package to replace your Joomla! index. If your version of Joomla! or Mambo is not found in the package, request it from JoomlaHacks.

----------------> I don't have the indexes in the JSMF package. If I do, what do they look like or what is their name?

Nevermind.

"/var/www/vhosts/cabarete.biz/httpdocs/index.php"

has to be CHMOD to 777 for the "Click to Patch" to be successful. This is not in the User Manual.

Also, after the patch should you change "/var/www/vhosts/cabarete.biz/httpdocs/index.php"
back to CHMOD 644 for security reasons?

This solved one of my problems, thank you. It allowed me to patch the Joomla source file (the index.php file)

CHMOD the forum index.php to 777 does not fix the problem like it did for the Joomla index.php. When I click-to-patch, there appears to be no change.

ok, found a fix to get this click-to-patch to work for the Forum source files

If you hover over

Quote

the popup box explains that two files will be modified:
index.php
sources/subs.php

The fix is to CHMOD both files to 777. Then the click-to-patch will work.
The result should show

Afterwards, CHMOD the two files back to 644.
