Integrating SMF search results with Joomla when using the bridge?
« on: March 28, 2007, 10:34:23 PM »

Hi - I installed SMF, Joomla and the bridge and it all works great. Thanks for all of the hard work!

I'm curious: is there a way to integrate results from SMF into the Joomla search function for a bridged forum?

That searchbot won't work with JSMF, try ours:

LOL

Finally, JoomlaHacks offers a SearchBot for their component.  Odd that the Handy PHP one doesn't work since it was specifically written for this bridge.  Undecided

It is true that the Handy PHP version will not work on Joomla-SMF installations that are on seperate databases.  And unless, the SMF database has been radically changed, I don't see how the searchbot wouldn't work any longer.

Anyhow, more power to you.  Glad to see that somebody here decided to finally finish the project.  I'll look into the claim that the Handy PHP Joomla-SMF Searchbot won't work!  At this time, it seems that Wolverine just wants to promote his extension by bad-mouthing someone else's.
I guess some people are more interested in their own benefit that that of their users:
Search Joomla & SMF on different databases?

So, if the Handy PHP SearchBot truly doesn't work, please feel free to explain in want situation is fails and I'll drop the subject!

huh?

Afaik there was one searchbot written and it did not work with JSMF.  I modified it so that it did and made it available here.

I have no idea about any others nor do I care to argue about something so st$p$d.
