Joomla SMF Feature Suggestion
« on: March 25, 2007, 04:18:23 PM »

A dead component has been brought back to life and is screaming for a Joomla SMF plug-in. GroupJive: http://www.groupjive.org/ has been brought back to life but the developers are only supporting Joomlaboard. Groupjive allows site users to create their own groups. Now wouldn’t it be nice if SMF with all it's member groups settings would be able to import these user groups so that they could start and maintain their own private forums. Why the developers are only supporting Joommlaboard with its limited functions is beyond me Sad

I would most certainly LOVE to see this integration there is no forums like SMF none come even close to comparison!! I also have a few friends that are interested in this mod. Im trying to get everyone interested to start posting here maybe if we get enough demand someone will actually work on this. Thanks!

I know JSMF was abandoned. But my bridged forum is not dead.

So I hope to find something still can support this bridge.

Strange, since JSMF is resting in peace; the first and biggest feature suggestion would be a stable bridge for SMF 2.0 and Joomla 1.5 and not user levels...

Dear baijianpeng,

I really cant understand…. you where so negative on several forums about JSMF the past year. And now you are asking for Support and future development? Isn’t this a little bit strange?

Please stop complaining on all kind of forums about the SMF Bridges for Joomla. There is all ready explained to you why there is no more Bridge like the Simple Machines and Joomlahacks. You are also informed about the issues in the GPL licence between J! and SMF.

Please stop complaining and move on Cheesy

Kind Regards,
Daan aka Livebox

Yes, I must had complained several times, especially when this bridge was abandoned. But this does not mean I am completely negative to it.

I apologize if your think I don't like JSMF. No, I like it. I could not complain if I did not care it.

I also had donated 10 dollars to the author. (maybe too few to you, but $10.00 to me in our country means $70 to you in US.)

I never mean hostile to this bridge. Maybe you misunderstood.

And this time, I did not ASK for development, I just want to know if someone ELSE has some new status of something about GroupJive and JSMF. If no new progress, I will not REQUEST it since I know JSMF was abandoned for a long time. Did I asked you to do anything?

Thanks to the author of JSMF, if you are one of the authors, thank you too. I apologize again for complaining about JSMF before.

You don't need to tell me to stop, because I already stopped. Did you find I complaining recently?
