Hello... I looked around but could find only *similar* problems with answers non suitable for what follows.
When an admin wants to add a certain amount of new users, the first time everything is ok, but from the second user on this is what he gets when he tries to save the new user account:
Fatal error: Unknown(): The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition jsmffrontend of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ the session was started in /web/htdocs/www.dilectio.it/home/portale/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_smfcbplugin/smf_cb.php on line 236
Of course, the string "/web/htdocs/www.dilectio.it/home/portale/" is the admin's website full path.
The funny thing is that the admin press "refresh page" he first get a warning (user ID and Password already in use), then he gets the CB user list, with the brand new user regularly added and (apparently) working (booth in Joomla and in SMF).
Already seen answers related to similar problems, for example here (relating to problems on line 156):
Thanks locutus, I was thinking it would be like that, so I'll just point to Arpocrate's original question and hope the developers will have another look and reply again...
To the developers: how do I fix the problem described in this thread while awaiting the release in which the fix is applied?
I just checked which sticky I had seen - it was by "Livebox".
Unfortunately Mambo is not an option for me - I'm at 99% of development of a large complicated Joomla site, with plenty of customised code in it. The SMF forum and the bridge have been working properly for most of the time I spent on this project, and only when I started adding members to the CB admin side of things, I discovered this bug. I've worked around it by logging in as each new member and logging out again, and most likely the future admin will never have to add members again, but still. If development has stopped, who says that there won't be any security issues that will become a problem?
For now I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that this is the only bug that is to appear in this bridge...
For future projects this will probably mean I can't use the SMF forum though.
Thanks - I'll look into jfusion, and of course the other forum options too. I liked SMF better than phpBB, but I may have to reconsider that for future Joomla projects.
I have left Joomla and going to Support the Mambo Foundation. And the intergration off the Mambo Bridge is even better then the J! one. And there is also an SMF 2.0 bridge comming
Yes, but why would I (other than for a bridge) switch from Joomla to Mambo? I'm keen to start using Joomla 1.5 soon, as I can make it entirely accessible, without editing core code. The way I'm customising files with Joomla 1.0 series, makes it a pain to update to the latest version. (and I think they'll keep coming, as we're on 1.0.14 now, despite 1.0.12 being declared the last one)
