Passwords not synchronising....
« on: February 16, 2008, 12:17:45 AM »

I have:
JSMF 2.0.2.1 (latest downloaded from here),
SMF 1.1.4
Joomla 1.0.14 and
CB 1.1

I have no problem with new users registering and logging in.
However, old users passwords havent been synch'ed correctly (they get an "incorrect login or password" error. I have had to get pilot users to reset their password, but as I have over 100 users I'd prefer not to do this. I'm thinking it may be a password encryption / decryption issue... can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance
Robyn

I'm having the same issue.  Same versions is looks like.

I manually reset one of my user's passwords in Joomla and now he can login just fine.

Huh Huh Huh  2.0.2.1 didn't fix anything.

Thanks

Just thinking outloud.. Is there a way to sync the passwords manually via MySQL login?  It looks like the fields are different lengths.

I haven't tested new registrations yet, but like the above posts, my current users are not synched.  When user logs into joomla or smf they must log into the other to use its features.  When logging out of one, it does not log out of the other.

Also, I need something that will work with SEF pages (I use SEF404), we'll lose our rankings if the url has to be index.php/componentxxx/item43/ etc.

Any suggestions?

(Thanks!)

SEF is not fully working with JSMF. You can disable SEF for the com_SMF extension. There was an project to make SEF compatible with the JSMF bridge but this has been stopped same as the development off the Bridge.

And when you use J! 1.0.13? Advice do not use the Sync option. Users will be automatic be synced, when logging in the first time. Best thing to use is the login module of the Bridge.

When you want full SEF urls with SMF? Advice use Mambo ;-)
