Installed fine and everything seem to be working as it should except whn trying to sync users - it says it's beendone but there is still only 1 user in the smf dbase?
Any ideas what I need to do? Am I missing something
I've checked and double checked and there is nothing apparent so I set up a new joomla site and copied my users across, installed smf and the com and it worked a treat.
The one thing I can pick out was that when I did the install, I wasn't aware that it had to be on the same db so I used fantastico to install smf, upon realising i transferred the db across, which could be the route of the problem!!!
when i click on sync usernames i get the following error...

my guess is that something is still pointing at the old database. Probably you didn't get all the settings right in SMF. And I'm not saying you're st$p$d, I'm saying double check that everything is correct. This is definitely a configuration issue.

I'm sure that everything is setup correctly...
thanks dave
Dave, don't double and triple post the same problem, it won't get it answered any quicker. The error message tells you what the problem is and with which user, you need to solve that. The rules of registration are not the same in Joomla and SMF and it is your job to solve the issues like this.
Hello, I was having the same problem and fixed it. In this case it was because a forum user (admin) was registered with the same email than a joomla user (juanpablo -superadmin-), so when the script tried to create the joomla user admin with the email juanpablo@domain.com it gave an error, because my joomla superadministrator user (juanpablo) is already registered with that email. So I changed the email for user juanpablo (under "user management") and it worked
