I am running hte latest version of the latest topic module, with joomla 1.0.12, and I have the module on my front page, directing to the latest topics located under /forums. For all the topics listed in the module, the addresses that they link to include a "#New" at the end, I suppose that is so that it takes the users to the last message posted.
However, I noticed that every time myself or anyone else tries to view a topic with the #New at the end, the page either does not load, or takes very long to load, sometimes well over a minute. If I try to access the topic normally, through its usual address, I get no delays.
Is there any way to fix that, or remove the #New from the links in the module?
That #new is part of SMF, and that is how new links are displayed. So no, as far as the module is concerned, it won't be removed. You can make manual modifications if you want though.
