Forum squashed up?
« on: February 13, 2007, 02:55:07 PM »

Ok, ive tried switching both Joomla and SMF templates to HTML and not XHTML, but it is still squashed up. If i get the Bridge to use the forums style.css, it goes off the page and is still squashed up).

This ONLY happens in Firefox. Not Internet Explorer (Where it works perfectly).

Site is here: http://www.leightosoft.com/

Any ideas?

the problem is Firefox is using web standards, and until IE7 Internet Explorer was not.  You are *ALWAYS* better off developing for Firefox because the standards are what will work on all browsers.  It sounds like you need to modify padding or margin in your css.  IE6 had a screwed up box model which applied padding and margin differently than every other browser out there.

Okie doke, i got someone from my webhosting forum to do it for me for 500 points, so thanks for the help. (It's not my theme, and i really quite like it, but its a pain in the ass that SMF cant just use my default Joomla theme (A very nice wide layout).

Cheers

Tom

(The Joomla Template uses Divs, and is xhtml compatible -- the SMF template uses tables :S)
