the \n\n\t\n problem is not a fix for this Bridge version, the problem is in the code off SMF (see the older topics about this problem). So when you do not have this problem right now then you do not have to apply this patch
I removed a previous version and installed the new one since I was getting some cache errors previously related to the JSMF bridge (stemming from a site move/file ownership change). Reinstalling this way solved my cache problems, but now this little issue.
I was getting the \n\n\t\n problem, but when I applied the patch it changed to a \n\t\t\n\t problem on ALL pages (it appeared at teh very top of the page, and didnt allow the joomla wrapper to load properly. The forum part looked fine though). I did some testing, and have noticed that it only appears on the default SMF theme. The theme that my SMF generally uses (english steel) doesnt have that problem.

That's odd - mine does it on a RocketTheme template. I'll have to check the default template. I don't know if it's related, but I'm getting part of my menubar not loading and the side graphics not showing up intermittently. See my two examples below (menu bar not loading completely and side gradients not loading):

I had this error fixed but then decided to change the smileys and have the popup box - as soon as I do this I can't post due to the error, in the unbridged forum it is fine. To fix it I have disabled the popup.
This is the error with popups enabled
Code:
\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t Pick a smiley '); for (row = 0; row < smileys.length; row++) { for (i = 0; i < smileys[row].length; i++) { smileys[row][i][2] = smileys[row][i][2].replace(/"/g, '"'); smileyPopupWindow.document.write('' + smileys[row][i][2] + ' '); } smileyPopupWindow.document.write(" "); } smileyPopupWindow.document.write(' Close Window \n\t\n'); smileyPopupWindow.document.close(); } // ]]>

Amazing, I was having this problem with the smileys popup in SMF and thought I was off to design an identic looking theme for SMF. Luckily I saw this thread before!
my test site was working fine, but now i have put it all up on the live site, once again getting the same problem. I applied the patch, and it changed it to a \n\t\t\n\t problem.... this is displaying the central post form correctly, but preventing the joomla template from working.
In maybe a related problem, if I use the CB login (with the plugin installed) it tells my members "incorrect username or password". With the joomla-smf login it works fine (for login). If users attempt to request a new password it gives them this error:
JSMF CB Plugin error::Failed to update password to SMF:: table 'XXXX_smf1.members' doesnt exist SQL=UPDATE members SET passwd = '4033c06etcetc' WHERE ID_MEMBER = '1178' ~~~ FROM::/home/XXXX/public_html/administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.class.php || updatepass || 1202
(that is after I applied the hack given in the 2.0.2 thread, as I had an identical error with the password reset as other members there).
Finally, whenever I click on "sync username" or "sync real name" in the admin, the page times out... though it does appear to have moved all the usernames accross to the jos_user table. I initially thought I had problems because users had -_@ etc in their usernames, so I edited my user database to remove them all, but it still does the same.
To fix that, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the JSMF component, but get the same result each time.
BTW> I am using J! 1.0.12, SMF 1.1.2, CB 1.0.2, and JSMF 2.0.2 (with 2.0.2a patch).
If I can provide any other info, or you want full access to my site, pls let me know.
