Thanks a lot for the "Failed to update password to SMF" fix. It was reported by one of our members, and half an hour later it was fixed. Just to let you know, thank you.

Best upgrade from JSMF 2.0RC1?
« Reply #48 on: February 25, 2007, 03:41:57 PM »

Hi,

I am (finally) getting to upgrading:

JSMF - 2.0RC1 to 2.0.2 (or 2.0.2a if necessary)
SMF - 1.1RC3 to 1.1.2
CB - 1.0.1 to 1.0.2
Joomla - 1.0.11 to 1.0.12

Any suggestions on the most efficient way to do the upgrade ?  I am assuming I can't use the 2.0+ to 2.0.2 patch, correct ?  Do I need to de-install and re-install ?

Also anything to watch out for with the above versions with respect to compatibility ?

Thanks,
Patrick

You have searched? I think you should try a different searchengine...

SMF can be found at http://www.simplemachines.org
JSMF can be found on this site (Joomlahacks) in the download section.

How hard can it be....

if it is in the table then it has to be in the user list, because the user list references the table.

Finally made a new SMF installation & problem was solved.
So seemingly problem must have been from SMF side

Thanks

After experiencing a number of the forementioned problems with..

Joomla! 1.0.12
SMF 1.1.1
JSMF 2.0.2
CB 1.0.2

..All i can say is: Download and follow the 'User Guide' to the letter.

I had been using Simpleboard (aka. Joomlaboard) which unfortunately bottle-necks the 7 J! UserGroups into 3 SB UserGroups, acceptable unless you care; which i do. SO! I went for SMF which turned out to be the wise choice, and i figured that not enough people in the world show praise for a great thing, so here's that.

Thank You!

I am having a problem with the registration.  I have Joomla 1.0.12, SMF 1.1.2, and Joomla-SMF 2.0.2.  When I set the registration configuration to "SMF", registering in Joomla still brings up the Joomla registration form, not SMF's. I would like to use the SMF form, since it seems that, after activation, no login is required to synchronize the Joomla and SMF databases;  I also like the captcha used by SMF.

Another problem: deleting a user the Joomla User Manager does not delete the user in SMF.  I have configured everything according to the User Guide.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Chris,
are you using CB ?  I have no problems with the sync using CB from joomla to smf. I have a unique setup where I have 2 separate domains, joomla on one and smf on another - but that's a whole nother can of worms.
Best,
Mike
