JSMF Bridge not Synchronizing the NEW Users with the SMF Forum.
« on: January 19, 2007, 07:19:01 AM »

My JSMF Bridge is not correctly syncing the username. And when i register a new user through SMF forum in joomla Frontpage. It gives a error as  "Unable to load Joomla-SMF Bridge Configuration and Functions!"
But the user in the CB will be created and this user is not synced with the SMF forum. And we cannot login to SMF in the joomla Frontpage. But we can login in CB.

I have even copied all the SMF database to the joomla through import and export procedure.

Actually i have 2 individual database that have been setup. One is for joomla and other one is for SMF forum. But i have not deleted the SMF forum database, i have only copied the SMF database to joomla. Should i wanna delete that seperate SMF database?

My setting of JSMF is
SMF Table Prefix: smf_

My setting of CB:
Registration through: CB
Login through: Joomla-SMF

Please check for userself at: http://pravee.com

maybe I didn't understand that right, but you're using 2 different databases for your site... one for joomla and one for smf?  you say that you copied the smf tables over to the joomla database but it's still not working?  which database is your smf targeting?  you may have to change that in your smf admin to target the actual joomla db where you imported the smf_ tables

It means that should i change the settings in SMF forum. But i changed to joomla database in the SMF settings. The forum went blank by giving some database error. So i again changed all the setting to the normal
OK here is my original SMF forum settings.

Server on which the database resides: localhost
Database Username:praveeco_smf1
Database Password:****
Database Name: praveeco_smf1
Database Tables Prefix: smf_

But my joomla database name is: praveeco_joom1, and i have copied all the SMF database to this joomla database.

So should i change any settings in the SMF forum?

And so you have your answer, if JSMF requires that both systems use the same database, and you are using two separate databases, then that is your problem.  And that is why no new users are being synchronized.

Why not post the database error instead of posting an error that is a result of your incorrect setup?

I had an installation of smf in sync with my test site and when I tried to change the settings, I got the same error, I ended up re-installing smf and everything onto my live site and just importing all of my tables from the old database... I know it's not a fix, but I was never able to move my smf from one database to another, so my guess is that you will need to do the same... just make sure to backup your databases and then after re-installing, import it all back in there... unfortunately, if you were using the discuss bot you may have to go back through and re-add the coding, maybe you won't... I'm not sure how you had that configured if you were even using it

Please read the user guide the explanation is in this guide.

I've de-selected the option to have users redirected to the
Forum in the Joomla SMF forum configuration module. Is there anywhere else I need to look becuase my users after registering and upon login are still being directed to Joomla SMF forums.

The site is www.hitzholla.com
It's going live this week and this is the only item that I haven't been able to figrue out.

Any help direction, guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
