fatal error in function.php
« on: January 15, 2007, 10:59:11 AM »

after restore of site on plesk 8.0.1 I cannot get into a previously working site. I get the following errors

Warning: main() [function.main]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/Lite.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/autos.co.uk/httpdocs:/tmp) in /var/www/vhosts/autos.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_smf/includes/Function.php on line 20

Warning: main(Lite.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /var/www/vhosts/autos.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_smf/includes/Function.php on line 20

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'Lite.php' (include_path='/var/www/vhosts/autos.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_sef:/var/www/vhosts/autos.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_sef/includes:.:') in /var/www/vhosts/autos.co.uk/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_smf/includes/Function.php on line 20

can anyone tell me why?

Lite.php is in the same directory as the caller, Function.php.  So it should not need any changes but for whatever reason it is failing.

In Function.php try changing line 20 to this:

Code:
require_once './Lite.php';

Thanks Wolverine, that would have probably done it but I eventually realised what the message was hinting at and changed either the vhost.conf file (using plesk) or the .htaccess (was happening on a number of domains after upgrade to override  the include_path.

just as easy, and much better for compatability.  Thanks for posting your solution.

Hey Jim, what did you do to vhosts.conf or htaccess to clear this up?  I'm having the same problem, but with only some of the smf plugins in comprofiler.   I'm on Plesk 8.1 as well.  Any hint would be very helpful!

Thanks,

John

Kenosha,

in vhost.conf

Code:
<Directory /var/www/vhosts/yourdomain.com/httpdocs>
<IfModule mod_php5.c>
php_value include_path "/var/www/vhosts/yourdomain.com/httpdocs:."
</IfModule>
</Directory>

hope this helps

nope.  I put it into vhost.conf (which I had to create) and then tried .htaccess.

In .htaccess, the result was one of the plugins (smf_info) worked, but the other plugins still produce blank pages.

Thanks though!

You may have solved one error (mine was also smf) but hit a deeper one. If you are hitting a blank page (I assume everything worked before) try turning error disply on with
Code:
php_include disply_errors On
in the vhost.conf. This will hopefully show you more error messages, probably a number of warnings followed by a fatal.

PS if you put lines in vhost conf you have to issue the command /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/websrvmng -a from shell/console which will update the apache.conf file to include the vhost.conf you should then not need it in .htaccess. This updates for all domains (for individual domains search for websrvmng at swsoft).
