I have a problem
« on: January 05, 2007, 10:02:05 AM »

Good afternoon. I have a serious problem and I do not have nor idea of like solving it.
I use:
- Joomla 1.0.12
- SMF 1.1
- Com SMF 2.0
- Mod SMF Login 2.0.3
- SMF Arcade 1.5.1
- My web: www.malastic.com
- Forum in: www.malastic.com/foro

If I register to me through www.malastic.com/foro (using the connection to register itself = http://www.malastic.com/foro/index.php?action=register) it works perfectly.

The problem is that if I enter by Jooma (www.malastic.com) and give register (the route has changed a: http://www.malastic.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=72&action=register) leaves the first window to me to register to me, I give the data him, but no longer it leaves the following window confirmation and it does not get to register.

You could indicate to me that I must do. I feel my level of English, but I am Spanish and I am using google for the translation.

Thanks.

I feel it, but I am desperate and thought that perhaps I put it in nonsuitable sites.  Cry

I request excuses. If somebody knows that it could do, please, to say it to me.

A greeting.

Good night. In Joomla I have activated the report of failures to the maximum, but not where to see if it gives some failure. Either where to see: php error_log.

A greeting,

Good night. I have installed Joomla and SMF (the last versions of both).
The installation is completely new, new data base also.  I have installed It in English in case the problem was something of the language. I have obtained that the page let remain in target, but now it leaves the following error to me if attempt to register to me:

An Error Has Occurred!
You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings.

I have followed the installation guide step by step. Of which it can be?

 A greeting,

I am also receiving this error.

I have the latest builds of joomla (1.0.12), cb and smf as of this post date.

I have registration pointing to smf as well.

When I try and test a new register is gives the error:

An Error Has Occurred!
You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings.

It also shows the error with no template or theme for smf, the joomla theme  still shows.

How would I start to debug this?

I also noticed that after installing the bridge I would be logged out of the joomla administrator area when logging out on the front end..

And if I try to edit admin settings in the front end of joomla to smf, smf would give this error:

An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to load the \'main\' template.

if/when using SMF registration please require activation... there is a problem when SMF tries to log a user in immediately after activation.  That is the error message you are getting.

That may fix the problem.

I decided to use joomla as the registration system.

One thing that still bothers me is that every time I edit something in the smf admin section it gives me an error.  Also it gives the error with out any template for smf, and the links for smf are all wrong and go to 404 pages.  When I mean the links are wrong I mean like it says:
An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to load the \'main\' template.
Back

When you click the back button it goes to a 404 page.  All the links within smf while the error message is displayed are also 404 (dead links).

I think smf is somehow changing directories while in error or debug mode....

I will what you said to do, and see how well it works.

I just tried it, and tested it, and it worked very good. I wonder though is it possible to fix the error to allow users to login instantly after registering on smf?

Also, it took me some time to find a solution to this error, can you put this in a thread of common problems?
