Essentially, the entire login method used by Joomla has been rewritten. If you take a look at the login() function in Joomla 1.0.12 and 1.0.13, there are large differences. Because JSMF both syncs users and does dual logins, the system needs to be upgraded to support the new login methods. My first attempt and upgrading this myself lead to a number of horrible failures, none of which I can explain because they made no sense. Sessions were randomly deleted, password hashes weren't recognized... that kind of stuff.
I'm going to try a second time at upgrading the login system in JSMF today. We'll see how it goes...
OK I will also try something ... let me know if you have something new...
I made some big leaps forward on this today. I'm going to be gone late tomorrow and all of Friday, so I'll be delayed on finishing, but I should be able to get a 1.0.13 ONLY version working this weekend!
Is anyone else having problems when using a login form in SMF (like in the SMF header) when using 2.0.2 of the bridge and SMF 1.1.3?
It isn't passing the password for me...
I have Joomla 1.0.12, SMF 1.1.3, and JSMF 2.0.2. I tried logging in from the forums through the SMF login form, and it seems to have worked for me. Is this what you mean by logging in using the SMF login form?
wow that would be great if we could stay on using the joomlahacks bridge and login module etc. The whole GPL issue is getting more and more people angry. all that sites that use joomla and smf using a bridge are experiencing problems.... i hope this is gonna work, then we could all upgrade and use the JSMF bridge. The component is now working very good on J 1012 and latest SMF

What do you mean all the sites having problems with the Bridge? The Bridges is working great on J! 1.0.12 and on SMF 1.1.3 and also on the SMF cvs releases. (tested the Joomlahacks and Simplemachines bridge with the CVS releases of SMF)
There is only an small issue with the J! 1.0.13 login routine. (there are some security changes on this one) So you can read on the forums that the advise is not to upgrade to J! 1.0.13.

Tested it and I also do not have this problem Tested it on: J! 1.0.12 (no extra components) SMF 1.1.3 and also with the CVS release (no Mods and default template) JSMF 2.0.2

yes superdaan, thats what i mean. the whole userdatabase has changed in J! 1013 so the Jhacks bridge doesn't work anymore. on several forums people talk about this saying that there won't be any bridge for J and SMF. I hope that the Jhacks bridge will be changed so that it works on 1013 installations. on J! 1012 latest SMF and Jbridge 202 it works like a charm TIA

Just take a look on the J! forums. there is a post about Community Builder. (CB) and there you will find a way to downgrade to 1.0.12. I can not say when the login module is updated
