SMF Discuss Bot 2.0.2 - Bugs Report
« on: December 24, 2006, 06:16:38 AM »

1
I have a category named "News&Annunci".
I noticed that the Discuss Bot didn't recognized already posted comments in this category, because the SQL query that searches for a post with that string in the subject, returns 0.
infact, it should search "News&Annunci"!!!

2
when a new comment is created (with 'Automatically Created' option disabled), it has a little quote of the article, and the text of the comment.
but when the bot counts for replies, it gives 0!
so it shows 0 comments

Joomla 1.0.11
MySQL 5.0.27
JSMF 2.0 RC3.1

1) fixed in most recent version
2) it shows the number of replies, SMF does not count the first post as a reply.

I'm using Bot 2.0.2, I didn't find any newier version out!

2
i know it counts replies, i think that when "automically created" is disabled, it should count replies+1

OK, sorry my previous post wasnt very specific. I've done more research and see a problem.

When going to the forum, my site makes URLs like this, which work well:
http://www.soamasterclass.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=88888934

However, the discussbot makes URLs such as:
http://www.soamasterclass.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=88888932&action=post;topic=2;num_replies=2

Which seem to break the template when an UNREGISTERED USER clicks those discussbot links.

They redirect to URLs with AMPERSANDS at the end such as:http://www.soamasterclass.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=88888932&

Which can be reloaded to show the board properly. So I am pretty certain that the links created by the discussbot are suspect.

Any clues?

Miko

You have the discussbot set to auto reply that is why the URL is like that.  Turn it off and try it like that.

There may be a change that needs to be made for guests... but I'm not convinced just yet.  I'll take a look.

WOOT!

Thanks for the reply, it feels good to have a reply from Wolverine whose posts I see all over the site.  Cool Shocked Grin Cheesy

I've switched off autoreply and it seems to look better. I do love the autoreply concept so if you cook up a patch for that, I'd love to deploy it!

Thanks,
Miko

Hi, first off thanx for a great bridge. Grin
One problem I am having is getting the discuss bot to work with mamblog. If I follow a link from a module, such as forum latest posts then the discuss bot works fine. However if I follow a link from a menu or from mamblogs member blog page then all I get is "{mos_smf_discuss}" showing up under the blog text.
My system: Joomla 1.0.12 (global regs off), MYSQL 4.0.24, PHP 4.3, JSMF 2.0RC3, SMF 1.1.1 Discuss Bot 2.02, Mamblog 1.0, CB 1.02
Thanx in advance for any help.

not sure if content mambots are enabled with mamblog.  The mambot system in joomla loads the mambots per system, and the discussbot is registered to load with the content.  If Mamblog does not load the content mambots then all you would see is mos_smf_discuss.

Ok, Thanx Wolverine, was afraid it was something like that. That's why when linking from a module works, then joomla shows the blog content thru joomla's content system.

So what's happening with the " " problem?

My forum is spanish spoken, so there are many accents. Every accent uses those "html codes".

Take a look:

I have come so close to giving up with this discussbot after it flooded smf.

I have joomla, virtuemart, community builder and smf all bridged and working yet when I come to add the discussbot it goes nuts.

I think its an awesome mod but its just not good for heavily bridged sites.
